Ycoden-Daute-Isora DO

Ycoden-Daute-Isora DO is a Spanish appellation for wines covering the western part of Tenerife. The area was granted Denominación de Origen status in 1994 on account of its unique climate, diverse soils and forward-thinking approach to winemaking, with a clear focus on quality. One of Tenerife’s warmest appellations, Ycoden-Daute-Isora experiences intense heat during the summer months, although winter temperatures can drop low enough for frosts to form. The rugged landscape and ranging elevation affords the area a number of unique microclimates conducive to the production of a range of different wines. Dry whites dominate though and Palomino - like elsewhere on the island - is the most prevalent grape.
