Sierras de Málaga DO

Covering the same geographic area as Málaga DO and sharing the same wine authority, Sierra de Málaga was granted Denominación de Origen status in 2001. Given its location in Spain’s sun-kissed southwestern corner, the appellation enjoys a warm climate, with coastal areas heavily influenced by the proximity of the Mediterranean. Sierra de Málaga permits a wide variety of grapes including Pedro Ximénez, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling, Viognier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Tempranillo, Pinot Noir and Graciano; dry red, white and rosé wines produced under the label must contain less than 15% ABV.
