Mencia

Bodega Mas Asturias produces interesting expressions of Mencia in the Bierzo appellation. The flagship wine is called Massuria.

Descendientes de Jose Palacios is a project created by the legendary Alvaro Palacios with his nephew Ricardo Perez. Founded in 1998 in the village of Villafranca del Bierzo in Castilla y Léon, the estate is known for producing premium quality wines from the Bierzo and release the wines made exclusively from the local Mencía.

Bodegas Rectoral de Amandi is part of the large Grupo Bodegas Gallegas, but is known for producing the highly regarded ‘Matilda Nieves’ Mencia from the Ribera Sacra appellation.

Ponte da Boga is known for its wines from the steep vineyards of Ribeira Sacra DO.
