Saperavi (100%)
“While the term “semi-sweet” alarms many consumers, this traditional Georgian style, popular during the Soviet era, deserves a look for its taste as much as its standing as a cultural curiosity. Made from 100% Saperavi, a tannic grape variety, 35 g/l of residual sugar boosts the fruit profile into a juicy, sweet-and-sour core redolent of cherries, bramble berries, and rose petals. Simple, soft, and velvety on the finish, this wine triggers the pleasure reflex. It’s not complex, just tasty, especially chilled served alongside Southern-style American barbecue or spicy foods.”
