Chianti Classico DOCG
Chianti Classico DOCG
Castello di Albola, Tuscany, Italy
2015
Sangiovese
“Deliciously fresh summer fruits exude from a light, perfumed nose. The palate is expressive and vibrant, carrying waves of fun along a spike edge of acidity before climaxing with notes of red currant and sweet spice.”

Sangiovese (100%)
“Intriguing nose of plum, fresh cherry, black pepper and menthol. Very attractive herbal notes. Stony minerality. Yet to develop the level of complexity this wine is capable of. Full bodied with chewy tannin propping up rich fruit - raspberry, blackberry and prune - as well as sweet spices. A sinewy, fresh finish. Many years ahead of it.”

Chianti Classico DOCG Riserva
Famiglia Nunzi Conti, Tuscany, Italy
2012
“Fresh morello cherry on the nose with tertiary nuances of mushroom, moss and black olive. Soft and elegant in the mouth, it's full of forest fruits and savoury weight, all held in check with racy acidity and a dry textured finish.”
90 Paul Caputo
Chianti Classico DOCG “Il Grigio” Gran Selezione

Sangiovese (80%)AbruscoCiliegioloMalvasia NeraMazzesePugnitello
“Very earthy, with lots of dried violets, cherry and liquorice. Plenty of evolution resulting in a gamey aroma. Full mouth coating of dark, brooding fruit. The palate is beautifully savoury, with broard shouldered tannins. Relatively cooler year given the decade that follows, but still a warm and sunny vintage yielding a rich, ripe structure. Acidity is still fresh. This is an impressively aged Chianti with classical varietal depth and concentration.”

Riecine, Tuscany, Italy
2017
Sangiovese (100%)
“Finessed aromas of raspberry and prune, faint black olives and liquorice. The palate is made of silky red fruit, but noticeably deeper and more concentrated than the Chianti Classico. Impressive sinewy structure encompasses gentle oak and fresh acidity. Lightens with strawberry earth character on the finish. Fantastic riserva with manny years ahead of it.”

Chianti Classico DOCG “Querciabella”
Chianti Classico DOCG “Querciabella”
Querciabella, Tuscany, Italy
2017
“Text book example of great value Chianti Classico. It combines aromas of black cherry, earth and sweet spice with a delicate fragrance of dried flowers and cranberry. Scintillatingly rustic on the palate, this merges energetic red fruit with a streak of garden herb. Lunchtime favourite under a Tuscan sun.”
91 Paul Caputo
