Ateni is one of two official appellations in the region of Kartli. It produces white wines, both still and sparkling, from varieties such as Chinuri, Goruli Mtsvane, and Aligoté. Atenuri, wine from Ateni, wine is straw-coloured, had crisp acidity, a delicate fruity structure.
